An 18-year-old woman from San Pedro, Estrella Rojas, has been charged with murder and attempted murder following two separate shootings. One of the shootings took place at a bar in January, resulting in the death of a man and injuries to two others. Rojas was arrested on March 7 by the Los Angeles Police Department South Bureau Homicide detectives with the assistance of the Harbor Division Gang Enforcement Detail.

Details of the Shootings

In addition to the bar shooting, Rojas is also accused of being involved in a shooting on January 6, where a 19-year-old man narrowly escaped injury when his car was hit. The victim was accosted by two individuals and was attempting to drive away when shots were fired.

Court Proceedings

Rojas faces charges including murder and attempted murder with the additional allegation of personally using a firearm during the crimes. Her first court appearance was scheduled for Monday, where it was yet to be determined if she had entered a plea or secured legal representation.

The Bar Shooting

The fatal shooting at Machista Bar on Pacific Street claimed the life of 33-year-old Tyrone Tyars and left a 35-year-old woman and a 44-year-old man wounded. Tyars, a father of two, responded to a call from his girlfriend about a disturbance at the bar and was shot upon arrival. The motive behind the altercation remains unknown.

Previous Legal Troubles

Records show that Rojas had previously been sentenced to three days in county jail and one year of probation for carrying a concealed weapon. This prior conviction sheds light on her history with the law.
