Shocking Murder of Liquor Trader in Sonipat
A liquor trader met a tragic end in Haryana’s Sonipat district on Sunday when assailants opened fire on him with at least 20 bullets as he parked his vehicle outside a local ‘dhaba’. The victim, identified as Sunder Malik, was sitting inside his car on National Highway 44 in the Murthal area of Haryana when the incident occurred.
The horrifying attack, captured in a video circulating on social media, shows Malik attempting to defend himself as the assailants relentlessly fired at him. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Gaurav Rajpurohit stated that the attack took place around 8.30 am near Gulshan dhaba, where two to three assailants shot at least 20 bullets into Malik’s body from close range.
Police Investigation and Forensic Examination
Following the incident, police launched an intensive investigation, forming several teams to solve the case. DCP Rajpurohit assured the public that CCTV footage from the area is being reviewed, and the assailants will soon be apprehended. Additionally, forensic teams meticulously examined the crime scene, collecting crucial evidence for the investigation.
Recent Wave of Violence
This brazen killing comes just two weeks after the tragic murders of INLD’s Haryana chief Nafe Singh Rathi and party worker Jai Kishan on February 25. The two men were fatally shot in their vehicle in Bahadurgarh, Jhajjar district. Authorities have already arrested two individuals in connection with that case, highlighting a recent surge in violent incidents in the region.
