Accident – Death – Obituary News :

The Terrifying Night in Iredell County

A man in Iredell County caused a night of terror, binding and killing several people in a home before barricading himself with several children, deputies say. The incident took place on Home Drive near Bailey Road on Saturday, where a neighbor reported hearing gunshots, leading to a horrific chain of events.

The Start of the Nightmare

Deputies were called to the scene after the neighbor witnessed three men in ski masks entering the home before the violence erupted. The witness described a white SUV pulling in, three masked men entering the house, and then fleeing after three loud bangs were heard. When deputies arrived, they found two people dead inside and a third person with a gunshot wound on the back porch, all of whom were bound and restrained.

The Standoff Unfolds

The investigation led deputies to a home on Ostwalt Amity Road, where the suspect, Justin Michael Strawser, barricaded himself and engaged in a standoff with law enforcement. Strawser began shooting at deputies with a rifle while four children were trapped inside the house with him. Negotiations failed to resolve the situation, leading deputies to use gas to force Strawser out of the house.

The Tragic End

After a night-long standoff, deputies shot and killed Strawser, who was wearing a bulletproof vest. Fortunately, no one else was physically harmed during the ordeal. The victims of the murder were identified as Eduardo Cordova, 22, and Caleb Loper, 24. Authorities suspect that drugs and robbery may have been motives in the deadly attack, although it remains unclear if the other suspects involved have been identified.

Overall, the night in Iredell County was one of fear, violence, and tragedy, leaving a community shaken and mourning the loss of innocent lives.
