Tragic Shooting Incident on National Highway 44 in Murthal, Haryana
A liquor trader, Sunder Malik, met a tragic end as he was shot dead in his car on National Highway 44 in Murthal, Haryana’s Sonipat district. The incident took place on Sunday morning near Gulshan dhaba, where assailants fired more than 30 bullets into his body, as reported by news agency IANS. Sunder Malik, hailing from Saragthal village in Gohana, was residing in Sonipat at the time of the brutal attack.
Police Action and Investigation
Following the heinous crime, eight teams have been formed by the police to track down the suspects responsible for the murder. An investigating officer mentioned that the next course of action would be determined after consultations with the victim’s family to bring the perpetrators to justice.
Official Statement by ACP Gaurav Rajpurohit
Gaurav Rajpurohit, the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Sonipat, provided details of the incident to news agency ANI, stating, “We received information about the firing at Gulshan Dhaba in Murthal, resulting in the unfortunate demise of one individual. The police immediately responded to the scene and initiated an investigation. More than 20 rounds of bullets were discharged during the attack. The crime team is diligently working on the case, with 7-8 teams actively involved in the pursuit of the culprits. Surveillance footage from CCTV cameras is also being closely monitored. The deceased individual was identified as a liquor trader.”
Video Footage Captures the Horrific Event
A chilling CCTV footage captured the moment when two attackers mercilessly shot at Sunder Malik as he tried to defend himself during the assault. The video footage revealed that the incident occurred around 8:30 am, showing Malik sleeping in his SUV at the dhaba’s parking lot before being dragged out and fatally shot by the assailants, as reported by NDTV.

This tragic incident follows a series of violent events in Haryana, including the recent shooting of Nafe Singh Rathi, the Haryana unit president of the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD), who was also gunned down by unidentified assailants in Jhajjar district.
