Accident – Death – Obituary News :

PONTIAC, Mich. (FOX 2) – A 55-year-old Pontiac man, Malcolm Robert Boykin, has been arraigned on multiple felony charges, including second-degree murder, in Tuesday’s fatal shooting at a motorcycle club.

Boykin was arrested on Wednesday and is accused of the death of Charlie Isaac Odneal, 42, of Pontiac, according to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office.

Charges Against Boykin

Along with second-degree murder, Boykin faces charges of assault with intent to murder, being a felon in possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and multiple counts of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. He is currently being held without bond at the Oakland County Jail.

Law Enforcement Response

“Once again, an argument escalated into a senseless homicide,” stated Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. “I appreciate the great work of our team to quickly identify the suspect and further, to locate and arrest him.”

The shooting occurred at the Night Riders Motorcycle Club on Raeburn and Sanford in Pontiac. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene following a 911 call reporting a possible shooting.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered that Odneal had been shot and was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle. Unfortunately, Odneal passed away at the hospital on Wednesday around 5 a.m., as confirmed by the OCSO.

Detectives were able to identify Boykin as the shooter, and the Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Team apprehended him without incident at a nearby motel on Wednesday morning.

Legal Proceedings

The OCSO detectives, along with a special agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, determined that the shooting stemmed from an argument. Boykin is scheduled to appear in the 50th District Court on March 19 for a Probable Cause Conference.
