Shocking Dismissals in Mumbai Train Shooting Case

Mumbai: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has made a significant move by dismissing two constables from the force in connection with the tragic Jaipur-Mumbai train shooting case. The incident, which shook the nation, took place on a moving train from Jaipur to Mumbai, where four innocent passengers lost their lives at the hands of a RPF personnel, Chetan Singh, in Maharashtra.

Details of the Incident

The unfortunate incident took place on July 31 of last year, leaving everyone in shock. The constables who were dismissed from their duties on Sunday faced the axe for their failure to protect the passengers and for not fulfilling their duty. Instead of taking immediate action and stopping the errant personnel, they chose to run for cover, leading to dire consequences.

Both constables, Amey Acharya and Narendra Parmar, were on duty that fateful day alongside Chetan Singh, the accused in this heartbreaking case.

Legal Actions Taken

Following the incident, a case was registered against the RPF jawan, Chetan Kumar, who opened fire inside the Jaipur-Mumbai Central Express Train after it crossed Palghar Station in Maharashtra. The FIR, lodged at Borivali Government Railway Police (GRP) in Mumbai, charged Chetan Kumar under sections 302, Arms Act, and Railway Police Act.

Chetan Singh, in a bid to seek bail, claimed to be suffering from mental illness and filed a plea through his lawyers, Amit Mishra and Pankaj Ghildiyal. However, the Mumbai court adjourned the bail plea on December 2, leaving the case in legal limbo.

Conclusion

The dismissal of the two constables in connection with the Jaipur-Mumbai train shooting case serves as a reminder of the importance of duty and responsibility in law enforcement. The tragic incident has not only cost innocent lives but has also tarnished the reputation of the Railway Protection Force. As the legal proceedings continue, it remains to be seen what further actions will be taken to ensure justice for the victims and their families.
