Arrest Made in Fatal Hit-and-Run in Pico Rivera, March 2023

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has announced the arrest of 28-year-old Juan Figueroa Sanchez from Garden Grove in connection with a fatal hit-and-run incident that took place in Pico Rivera in March 2023.

Sanchez, the owner of the vehicle involved in the crash, is accused of being an accessory to the crime. The incident resulted in the death of 36-year-old Yesenia Sanchez and severe injuries to 35-year-old Virginia Saucedo.

Details of the Incident

According to LASD Capt. Jodi Hutak, Sanchez’s 15-year-old brother, who did not possess a driver’s license, was behind the wheel at the time of the collision. Following the hit-and-run, the 15-year-old was reportedly taken by Figueroa Sanchez to Mexico, where he may still be residing.

Figueroa Sanchez is facing multiple charges, including felony hit-and-run causing injury and death, child endangerment, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, and being an accessory to a felony crime.
