Jaipur witnessed a tragic incident on Friday morning when three men lost their lives after a truck collided with their bike on Ajmer Road under the Bhankrota police station area. The victims were identified as Mahendra Lal (31), Kana Ram (30), and Purshottam (30), who were all working as laborers and were on their way to work when the unfortunate accident occurred.
Sub-inspector Surendra Singh shared, “The trio was seriously injured in the accident and was immediately rushed to SMS Hospital, where they were pronounced dead by the doctors.” The truck driver responsible for the collision was arrested at the accident site.
The incident took place near Ring Road on the Jaipur-Ajmer highway at 8:45 am when the truck hit the bike from behind while the men were traveling towards Jaipur on Ajmer Road. All three victims resided in a rented room in Ganesh Nagar, and their families have been informed about the tragic accident. The bodies will be handed over to them after the post-mortem process.
The driver of the truck attempted to flee the scene but was apprehended by local residents and handed over to the police. An officer stated, “The accused is currently being interrogated to determine how the bike collision occurred.”
Jaipur has been witnessing a spate of fatal accidents caused by speeding vehicles, with four deaths reported in February alone due to such incidents. The traffic police have been struggling to curb such drivers and vehicles, especially in areas where their surveillance is lacking.
It is crucial for authorities to take stringent measures to ensure road safety and prevent such tragic accidents from occurring. The community must also remain vigilant and report any reckless driving behavior to prevent further loss of life on the roads.
