Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A shocking incident occurred in a house in Franklin Township, Pennsylvania, where a man named Darryl Carter II, 35, is accused of abusing a corpse and endangering children. The house was allegedly contaminated with “kitchen pans filled with feces and urine, piles of dirty diapers and urine soaked blankets,” according to Pennsylvania State Police (PSP).

Details of the Incident

According to a statement by PSP Trooper Brandon Black, Carter was seen stepping on a woman’s corpse repeatedly in the presence of police officers. He was charged with one misdemeanor count of abusing a corpse, two felony counts of endangering a child’s welfare, and one misdemeanor count of simple assault.

The incident took place at 2747 Chambersburg Road (U.S. Route 30) in Franklin Township. When emergency medical services (EMS) personnel arrived at the scene, they had to force entry into the house as no one would come to the door. Inside, they found a deceased female, later identified as Charlene Evonne Felton, 38, a resident of the Gettysburg area.

Conditions of the Residence

Upon entering the house, PSP officers noticed a foul odor and observed dirty diapers piled up throughout the residence. Carter was found in a bedroom, where he refused to let the officers in and refused to speak about the circumstances surrounding the deceased body.

During the incident, Carter allegedly grabbed a 3-year-old boy and swung him through the air, throwing him into a bathroom area. He then stepped on the deceased body as he retrieved the child. The PSP release lists two boys as alleged victims, one 3 years old and the other 1 year old.

Investigation and Charges

Trooper Jared Myers found a white powdery substance on a bedroom dresser while detaining Carter. The bedroom area had a crib with wet and heavy blankets, appearing to be soiled by urine. The kitchen area was also filled with empty wrappers and food strewn throughout.

Carter was arrested and charged with multiple offences, including abusing a corpse and endangering children. He was held at Adams County Prison on $50,000 bail.

This tragic incident has shocked the community and raised concerns about the welfare of children in such environments.
