Hamilton Police Investigate Second Homicide of the Year

Hamilton Police are currently conducting an investigation into the second homicide to occur in the city this year. The incident took place on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, just before 1:00 p.m., in the vicinity of 119 King Street West, Hamilton. Reports of shots being fired prompted a rapid response from police officers, who discovered a male victim on the sidewalk suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as 19-year-old Alexander Circiumaru of Hamilton, was rushed to the hospital but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Details of the Incident

The investigation has revealed that Alexander Circiumaru was walking on the sidewalk when a lone male assailant emerged from a car and fired multiple shots at him before fleeing westbound on King Street West. The suspect, described as a male dressed in all black clothing and wearing a face mask, got back into the vehicle, believed to be a newer model black or dark grey Honda Civic with a spoiler on the trunk. The car was last seen heading westbound in the direction of King Street West and Queen Street North.
