Details of the Homicide of Jessica Douglas Revealed

On February 9, 2024, the Monroe Police Department received a distress call from Alabama Street, which led to a homicide investigation. Court documents indicate that the victim, a resident of Alabama Street, was discovered on Winnsboro Road with a gunshot wound to her face. Tragically, she was declared deceased by officials.

As authorities delved into the case, they reviewed surveillance footage from Alabama Street, revealing a tall, slender Black male approaching the victim’s residence. A confrontation ensued at the front steps of the victim’s home, where the suspect, later identified as Kevontay Haynes, allegedly brandished a firearm.

The footage showed a struggle between the victim and the suspect over the weapon, with the victim reportedly attempting to grab the gun. An eyewitness account detailed how the suspect forcibly dragged the victim by her hair from the front yard to Winnsboro Road, where the fatal shooting took place.

Further investigation uncovered that Haynes, the suspect, believed the victim had a role in the passing of a relative, prompting his motive for the heinous crime.

The incident, which transpired on Winnsboro Road, resulted in the tragic death of a 35-year-old female victim. Her demise was officially classified as a homicide by authorities.

Arrest Warrant Issued for Haynes

An arrest warrant has been issued for 26-year-old Kevontay Haynes, linking him to the charges of 1st Degree Murder, 2nd Degree Kidnapping, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The Monroe Police Department urged the public to assist in locating Haynes, emphasizing the seriousness of the charges against him.
