In a heartbreaking turn of events, a 74-year-old man from Bowie lost his life in a devastating rollover wreck that occurred in Montague County. The incident took place just two miles north of Ringgold on US Highway 81 on a fateful Tuesday afternoon.

Details of the Accident

The fatal crash unfolded when a 2005 Ford Five Hundred was travelling north on US 81 and approached a sharp curve in the road. Sadly, the vehicle veered into the wrong lane, narrowly avoiding a collision with another car. In a panicked attempt to correct the course of the car, the 63-year-old driver overcorrected to the right, sending the vehicle into a dangerous side skid that ultimately led to it careening off the roadway.

The Ford crashed through a barbed wire fence, rolled onto its left side, and eventually came to a halt in an upright position. The driver, suffering from non-incapacitating injuries, was rushed to Nocona General Hospital for medical treatment. Tragically, the passenger, identified as 74-year-old James Hall, was pronounced dead at the scene.
