FOX 2 (WJBK) – A 55-year-old man from Pontiac has been taken into custody in connection with a tragic shooting that resulted in the death of 42-year-old Charlie Isaac Odneal, also from Pontiac. The incident, which began as a heated argument between members of a local motorcycle club, has left the community in shock.

Details of the Incident

The altercation that led to the fatal shooting took place at the Night Riders Motorcycle Club located on Raeburn and Sanford in Pontiac. Police were alerted to the situation following a 911 call reporting a possible shooting at the club. Upon arrival, authorities discovered that Odneal had been rushed to a nearby hospital in a private vehicle.

Thanks to the diligent work of the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office, the suspect was swiftly identified, and the Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Team was able to apprehend him without any further incident at a nearby motel. Unfortunately, Odneal succumbed to his injuries shortly after arriving at the hospital.

Law Enforcement Response

Sheriff Michael Bouchard praised the efforts of his team in swiftly resolving the case, stating, “An argument escalated into a senseless homicide. I appreciate the great work of our team to quickly identify the suspect and further, to locate and arrest him.”

Further investigations, including the involvement of a special agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, revealed that the tragic incident was the direct result of a disagreement between individuals at the motorcycle club.

Legal Proceedings

The case is expected to be presented to the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office on Friday for review, and potential charges may follow. The community mourns the loss of Odneal and hopes for justice to be served in this heartbreaking situation.
