The incident, which occurred at approximately noon, involved two vehicles – one belonging to God is Good Logistics and the other being a Nissan Caravan commercial bus.

According to eyewitnesses at the scene, the driver of the Ford vehicle was reportedly speeding when one of its front tyres suddenly pulled off. In a split second, the driver lost control of the vehicle, leading to a devastating collision with the Nissan that was travelling in front of it.
The aftermath of the crash left 11 individuals in distress, with seven male adults and four female adults caught in the chaos. Tragically, one male adult lost his life in the accident, while four male adults and four female adults sustained injuries of varying degrees. Miraculously, two individuals managed to escape unscathed from the wreckage.

Margaret Onabe, the acting Sector Public Education Officer of the Federal Road Safety Corps in the state, confirmed the details of the fatal accident. She pointed towards speed and loss of control as the likely causes of the tragic crash that unfolded merely two poles before the Ihiala LGA Secretariat along the Owerri-Ihiala Expressway.
Francis Basil, the commercial driver behind the wheel of the black Ford E-250 bus with the registration number JJJ842YG belonging to God is Good Logistics, found himself entangled in the calamity. On the other hand, Orjiwuru Augustine, the driver of the custom Nissan Caravan commercial bus with the registration number TTK518XA, also bore witness to the harrowing incident.
