Tragic Suicide of Debt-Ridden Family in Gadag, Karnataka
In a heartbreaking turn of events, three members of the same family in Gadag, Karnataka, have died by suicide due to alleged harassment by money lenders. The deceased individuals, Manjunath Theli (26), Renavva (39), and Savakka Theli (40), were residents of Gonala Village in Lakshmeshwar Taluk.
Manjunath had borrowed money to purchase a tractor but faced difficulties in repaying the loan. The mounting pressure from money lenders led to tragic consequences for the family. Manjunath’s financial struggles often led to arguments within the family, creating a tense environment at home.
On a fateful day, Manjunath visited Yalvigi Railway Station in Haveri with the intention of ending his life. In a devastating chain of events, his mother Renavva attempted to save him on the railway tracks but tragically lost her life as well. Upon learning of the deaths of Manjunath and Renavva, another family member, Savakka, took her own life by hanging herself at home.
Tragedy Strikes Another Family in Agricultural Pit Incident
In a separate incident, tragedy struck another family in Karibeeranahosahalli Village of Hosakote Taluk in Bengaluru Rural District. Mariyappa (70), Muniyamma (60), and their daughter Bharathi (40) lost their lives in a drowning accident at an agricultural pit on their farm.
The heartbreaking incident occurred when Bharathi accidentally fell into the pit while washing her hands after a meal. In a brave attempt to save their daughter, Mariyappa and Muniyamma also fell into the pit, resulting in the loss of three lives in the family.
Emergency services were called to the scene to retrieve the bodies from the pit, and the local authorities are conducting an investigation into the tragic incident.
