Tragic Murder of Southern California Dentist
Benjamin Harouni, a beloved dentist in Southern California, tragically lost his life in a shocking incident that has left the community in mourning. Just over a week after celebrating his 28th birthday, Harouni was fatally shot in his dental office by a disgruntled former customer.

The El Cajon Police Department responded to reports of gunshots at Smile Plus Dentistry, a practice owned by Harouni’s father, Jack Harouni. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men and a woman with gunshot wounds. Unfortunately, Harouni succumbed to his injuries, while the other victims were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Suspect Apprehended
The alleged perpetrator, identified as Mohammed Abdulkareem, fled the scene in a U-Haul truck following the shooting. Law enforcement officers were able to track him down and apprehend him later that night in San Diego. Abdulkareem, who had legally purchased a handgun just two weeks prior to the incident, now faces charges of murder and two counts of attempted murder.
