Accident – Death – Obituary News : In a tragic turn of events, six people, including a couple, lost their lives due to lightning strikes in Sawai Madhopur and Dausa districts of Rajasthan. The unexpected and severe weather change was a result of active western disturbances that brought about heavy rainfall and hailstorms in various parts of the state on Friday.

The couple, Rajendra Meena (36) and Jalebi Meena (34), were harvesting crops in their farm in Choth Ka Barwada area of Sawai Madhopur when they were struck by lightning. The couple leaves behind three children, and the local MLA has promised financial assistance to the family. Additionally, a shepherd named Dhanna Lal Meena from Nantodi village and a man named Satveer from Rodwad village also fell victim to the lightning strikes in Sawai Madhopur. In Dausa, a 14-year-old girl student, China Meena, lost her life in Daulatpura village, while a man named Shahrukh Khan succumbed to lightning in Lalsoth town.

The Chief Minister of Rajasthan, Bhajan Lal Sharma, has announced a compensation of Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased, with the disaster relief department and district administration also contributing to the relief efforts. The CM has further promised crop assessment in the areas affected by the adverse weather conditions.

The Meteorological Department has warned of continued lightning, hailstorms, and rainfall in Jaipur, Bharatpur, Ajmer, Jodhpur, and Bikaner divisions over the next 24 hours. Despite the sudden weather changes, the state has witnessed a notable rise in temperature, with Alwar and Karauli recording the lowest temperatures at 10.8 degrees Celsius. Jaipur saw a minimum temperature of 17.0 degrees Celsius, followed by heavy dust storms, lightning, and rain in the evening. The outskirts of the city, including Bassi, Bagru, and Kalwar, experienced hailstorms amidst the weather chaos.
