IMPHAL, Mar 2: One Kuki militant was killed and two others were seriously injured in a pompi bomb blast inside a bunker of Kuki militants located at Huikot village near Leimatak under Chura-chandpur district yesterday afternoon
The Tragic Incident at Huikot Village
Located amidst the serene hills of Churachandpur district, Huikot village was shaken by a tragic incident that occurred yesterday afternoon. The peaceful surroundings were disrupted by the deafening sound of a pompi bomb blast that took the life of one Kuki militant and left two others critically injured.
Details of the Blast
According to sources, the blast occurred inside a bunker where Kuki militants were handling the improvised mortar. The misfire of the pompi bomb resulted in the tragic loss of Paominlun Haokip, a 35-year-old militant from V Sinai village, Churachandpur. The injured individuals, Khup-thang and TL Jems, were rushed to Churachandpur district hospital for urgent medical treatment.

Following the incident, State forces comprising Manipur Rifles, IRB, commandos, and civil police took immediate action. Extensive area domination drives were carried out in various parts of the State, including Kakching, Sugnu, Wangoo, and Moirang.
