Accident – Death – Obituary News :

WHITEMARSH TOWNSHIP, PA — The Whitemarsh Township community is mourning the loss of Marcus G. Pochettino, a beloved father of four who tragically lost his life in a fatal crash on the Pennsylvania Turnpike earlier this week. The 38-year-old Montgomery County resident lived in Lafayette Hill with his wife and children.

The incident occurred near the Route 1 interchange in Bensalem Township, where Marcus’s Volvo crashed at a construction site. His wife, Casey Pochettino, took to social media to express the devastating loss, describing Marcus as a devoted husband and father to their two young boys, aged 9 and 7.

“There are no words to express the depth of our loss. He lived every day with love for me and our boys,” wrote Casey Pochettino in a heartfelt post. “He was our entire universe, and we were his. We lost the best dad in the history of the world.”

Marcus, a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and an employee at Labcorp, was actively involved in his community. He volunteered as the under-9 boys travel coach at the Colonial Soccer Club, where he coached his own sons.

“Beloved by the boys on his team, Marcus brought an infectious energy and spirit to the program that cannot be replaced,” shared the Colonial Soccer Club.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to support the Pochettino family, with over 200 individuals donating nearly $21,000 as of late Friday morning.

“His absence will be profoundly felt, from the loss of his nightly readings of Harry Potter to his sons, to the small acts of care and maintenance around their home, and his tender care for their physical and emotional well-being,” wrote family friend Jamie Kaye in the GoFundMe.

Funeral details are yet to be announced and will be provided in the coming days.
