The Tragic Crash in Madera County, California

On a fateful Friday morning, a devastating head-on crash occurred in the heart of Madera County, California. The incident took place on Avenue 7, just west of Road 22, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Victims of the Crash

The Madera County Coroner’s Office has now identified all eight victims involved in the tragic accident. Seven of the victims were hardworking farmworkers from Kerman, all hailing from different regions of Mexico. They were on their way to Lion Farms when the collision occurred.

  • 24-year-old Juvenal Jacobo Talavera from Michoacán, Mexico
  • 33-year-old Hector Orozco from Jalisco, Mexico
  • 30-year-old Alfredo Morales Sanchez from Guerrero, Mexico
  • 30-year-old Victor Hernandez Cirilo
  • 34-year-old Fidel Filomeno Ojeda
  • 35-year-old Pedro Hernandez Ojeda
  • 57-year-old Roberto Banuelos Flores

The eighth victim was the driver of the pickup truck, identified as 78-year-old Robert Jerry Kovar from Auberry, California.

The Aftermath of the Tragedy

The collision between the van carrying the farmworkers and the pickup truck resulted in catastrophic consequences. Only one of the eight occupants in the van survived the crash, leaving a deep sense of loss in the community.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) is currently investigating the cause of the tragic incident, as the local authorities work tirelessly to piece together the events leading up to the fatal collision.
