Accident – Death – Obituary News :

A public execution took place in Shibirghan, Afghanistan.

This is the fifth public execution since the Taliban seized power in 2021.

The UN has criticized the Taliban for these public executions.

ISLAMABAD — In a snowy setting in the city of Shibirghan, located in northern Afghanistan, a public execution unfolded on Monday. The chilling event saw a man convicted of murder facing a death sentence as thousands gathered at a sports stadium to witness the harrowing scene.

As the snow fell heavily, the execution took place, with the brother of the murdered man stepping forward to administer justice. Armed with a rifle, the brother shot the convict five times, each shot echoing through the stadium as onlookers watched in silence.

The Gruesome Trend

This public execution marks the fifth such incident to occur since the Taliban took control of Afghanistan in August 2021, following the withdrawal of U.S. and NATO troops. What was once a promise of a more moderate rule quickly descended into a series of severe punishments doled out in public view, reminiscent of the Taliban’s past reign in the late 1990s.

Despite international outcry and condemnation, the Taliban has continued to carry out these barbaric acts, signaling a return to their brutal enforcement of justice.

Global Criticism

The United Nations has been vocal in its opposition to the Taliban’s use of public executions as a means of punishment. UN spokesperson Stephane Dujarric expressed deep concern, stating that such public displays of violence are inhumane and go against the principles of justice and human rights.

While the Taliban’s supreme court claims that these executions are carried out with legal approval from the highest authorities, the international community remains steadfast in condemning these acts of violence.

A Reign of Terror

Recent events have showcased a disturbing trend in the Taliban’s rule, with public lashings, stonings, and executions becoming all too common in the war-torn nation. The use of extreme violence as a form of punishment has raised alarm bells among human rights organizations and world leaders alike.

As the Taliban continues to assert its dominance through fear and intimidation, the plight of the Afghan people remains precarious, with the specter of violence looming large over their daily lives.

The need for global intervention and support for the people of Afghanistan has never been more urgent, as they face the brutal reality of life under the Taliban’s oppressive rule.
