Man Identified in Fresno Shootings

Over the weekend, the City of Fresno was rocked by two separate shootings that left one man dead and a 16-year-old injured. The Fresno Police Department has identified the man who lost his life as 38-year-old Deandre Jackson.

First Shooting Incident

The first shooting took place on the 4200 block of North Fruit Avenue in Fresno. Authorities received a report of a gunshot victim at the location. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found Deandre Jackson with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to CRMC for treatment but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.

Second Shooting Incident

Shortly after the first incident, another call came in reporting a shooting on the 3100 block of West Norwich Avenue. The victim in this case was a 16-year-old male who had also sustained multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to CRMC and is currently in critical but stable condition. Detectives later determined that this shooting was related to the one on North Fruit Avenue.

Investigation Ongoing

According to detectives, the shootings were the result of an argument that escalated into violence in a parking lot involving several individuals who knew each other. The authorities are actively working on identifying and interviewing witnesses, as well as reviewing video surveillance footage from the area.

It has been confirmed that this was an isolated incident involving a specific group of individuals. Unfortunately, this marks the fourth murder in Fresno in 2024.
