According to reports from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the crash involved a 2005 Chevy Silverado driven by an 18-year-old man from Eidson. The young driver was traveling southbound on Highway 70 North when he collided with the school bus driven by 55-year-old Aleita Gladson, a resident of Rogersville.

Despite wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, Aleita Gladson tragically lost her life in the accident. Her untimely death has left the community in mourning, as she was described as a valued member of the Hawkins County School District.
