Bhopal: Two individuals tragically lost their lives after a devastating accident in Umaria district on Saturday evening. The incident occurred at Kuchwahi trisection under Manpur police station, where a motorcycle was hit by a car driven by a forest officer.
The victims, identified as Prem Bai, aged 40, and Lavkesh Singh, aged 35, suffered fatal injuries in the collision. Prem Bai passed away immediately at the scene, while Lavkesh succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The vehicle involved belonged to the MP Rajya Laghu Vanopaj (Vyapar Evam Vikas) Shahkari Sangh Maryadit and was affiliated with the forest department. The driver at the time of the accident was identified as Kanwaljeet Singh Uppal, aged 32, the son of Bhupendra Singh Uppal. Although the vehicle belonged to the officer, the driver was absent, and Kanwaljeet was behind the wheel when the tragic incident occurred. He has been charged under section 304 A,” informed Sharad Khamparia, the in-charge of the Manpur police station, to TOI.
