Tragic Accident Claims Life of Reserve Woman in St. John the Baptist Parish
A heartbreaking incident occurred on Friday (Feb. 23) in Reserve, La., where a 67-year-old woman lost her life in a fatal collision with a school bus on Highway 44 in St. John the Baptist Parish, as reported by the Louisiana State Police.
Details of the Accident
The tragic accident took place around 3 p.m. when a 2021 Kia Soul, driven by Beverly Creecy, was travelling eastbound on Hwy. 44 and was struck by a school bus attempting to turn onto westbound Hwy. 44 from the Hwy. 3179 (East 22nd Street) intersection.
Despite being properly restrained, Creecy sustained serious injuries in the crash and sadly passed away while undergoing treatment at a hospital. The driver of the school bus, identified as 39-year-old Erica Fisher of Laplace, sustained minor injuries, while the 28 students on board her vehicle were thankfully unharmed.
Investigation and Next Steps
The Louisiana State Police have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collision. Standard toxicology samples were collected from both drivers for analysis to shed light on the circumstances leading to this tragic event.
