Tragic Road Accidents Claim Lives in Sambalpur and Malkangiri
In a series of unfortunate events, Thursday witnessed three separate road accidents in Sambalpur and Malkangiri, resulting in the loss of six lives and leaving four others critically injured.
Accident Near Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Sambalpur
Tragedy struck near the Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology in Sambalpur when a motorcycle collided with a scooty at high speed. The impact was so severe that both riders lost their lives on the spot. The victims have been identified as Ashirwad Tripathy from Bargarh and Akhyit Sethi from Burla.
Collision on Chaurpur Bridge, Sambalpur
Another heart-wrenching incident took place on the Chaurpur bridge under Town police limits in Sambalpur. A head-on collision between two motorcycles claimed the lives of all three riders involved. The deceased have been identified as Surya Agrawal, Krishna Agrawal, and Md Sahid, while two others, Jahid Khan and Ritik, are currently receiving treatment at VIMSAR, Burla.
Tragic Mishap in Malkangiri
In Malkangiri, a 60-year-old Bonda woman lost her life in a road accident near Andrahal in Bonda Hill under Khairput police limits. The unfortunate incident occurred as a commander vehicle carrying passengers was returning from the weekly market to Andhrahal. The vehicle overturned on the ghat near Andrahal, resulting in the death of Chhanki Sisa. The two injured individuals have been transferred to Saheed Laxman Naik Medical College and Hospital in Koraput for further medical attention.
