Two Adults Charged with Felony Murder in Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl Victory Rally Shooting

Last week, a tragic incident occurred at the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory rally, where a mass shooting took place, resulting in the death of one woman and injuries to many others. Charges Filed Against Suspects

Following an intensive investigation, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced that two adults, Lyndell Mays of Raytown and Dominic M. Miller of Kansas City, have been charged with felony murder in connection with the shooting. In addition to the felony murder charges, Mays and Miller also face two counts of armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

The charges against Mays and Miller are the latest development in the ongoing investigation into the mass shooting that shocked the city. Last week, charges were also filed against two teenagers in connection with the incident, as authorities work to bring those responsible to justice.

Community in Mourning

The tragic shooting not only left one woman dead, identified as Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a mother and popular disc jockey, but also left at least 39 others injured, with 23 sustaining gunshot wounds. The community has been left in mourning as they come to terms with the senseless violence that occurred during what should have been a joyous celebration.

Continued Investigation

As the investigation into the shooting continues, additional charges are expected to be filed as authorities work to uncover the full extent of the incident. The Office of the Juvenile Officer is actively involved in the case, overseeing the proceedings for the teenage suspects involved in the shooting.

Jose L. Castillo, a 36-year-old man, has also been charged with unlawful possession of a firearm in connection with the shooting. A witness reported seeing Castillo involved in a fight where a handgun was dropped, leading to his arrest and subsequent charges.
