Rockledge police are currently investigating the tragic shooting death of a 22-year-old man in Cocoa, Florida. The victim, identified as Israel Ramos Loredo, was found in the driver’s seat of a black Yukon at the Hammock Harbor Apartments complex over the weekend.

Surveillance Video Review and Witness Search

Authorities are reviewing surveillance video footage and appealing to potential witnesses to come forward with any information regarding the incident. Loredo was discovered slumped over in the SUV after the vehicle reportedly ran off the road, prompting a call to law enforcement around 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Rockledge Regional Hospital Pronouncement

Loredo was rushed to Rockledge Regional Hospital, where he was tragically pronounced dead. Captain A.D. Deakins, spokesperson for the Rockledge Police Department, confirmed that the victim was not a resident of the apartment complex but hailed from Cocoa.

Investigation Continues

The case remains under active investigation, with detectives working diligently to uncover leads in the shooting. The Yukon’s registration led authorities to an individual in Cocoa, although their identity has not been disclosed. An autopsy was scheduled to shed further light on the circumstances surrounding Loredo’s death.
