Tragic Shooting Incident at Edgewood Restaurant Leads to Arrest in Philadelphia
EDGEWOOD, Md. — A horrifying incident unfolded at D&M’s Tiki Bar and Crab Deck in Edgewood, where a man lost his life in a senseless act of violence. The victim, identified as Dajuan Kyree Simmons, 24, of Aberdeen, was shot in a targeted attack that has left the community in shock.
Suspect Apprehended in Philadelphia
After intensive investigations, authorities have apprehended a suspect in the case. Parrise Marcellous Valentine, 33, of Aberdeen, has been charged with second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and other offenses. Valentine was located in Philadelphia and arrested with the assistance of local law enforcement. He is currently awaiting extradition to Harford County.
Details of the Tragic Incident
According to witnesses, the shooting occurred around 12:08 a.m. on Feb. 17 inside the popular restaurant. Simmons was confronted by the shooter, leading to a fatal confrontation. The shooter, accompanied by three others, followed Simmons into the restaurant and opened fire, leaving him wounded on the floor.
Despite Simmons being incapacitated, the suspect callously fired several more shots, leading to his untimely demise. The brazen act of violence took place in full view of patrons, causing panic and confusion among those present.
Community Response and Call for Cooperation
Following the tragic incident, Melissa Vaughn, co-owner of the restaurant, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of life. She emphasised the strong ties the establishment had built with the Harford County community and urged anyone with information to come forward to assist in capturing the suspect.
