The Venice Police Department, in collaboration with multiple law enforcement agencies, is currently engaged in a frantic search for four individuals who set off on a boating expedition from Venice and failed to return as scheduled. The concerning incident unfolded when a family member reported that the group embarked on their journey around 8 a.m. on Saturday but did not make it back on time. Prompted by this alarming revelation, the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office reached out to the Venice Police Department at 8 a.m. on Sunday to investigate the Marina Park Boat Ramp area.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered a vehicle and a boat trailer abandoned by the missing boaters. The individuals in question have been identified as 38-year-old Angel Hernandez Munoz from North Port, 54-year-old Ruben Mora Sr. from Port Charlotte, 37-year-old Julio Cesar Cordero Briones from North Port, and 35-year-old Vargas Parra, also from North Port. The vessel they were traveling in is described as a 1995 23-foot white SportCraft with the registration number #FL9937Hc.

The search efforts have since been intensified, with law enforcement agencies scouring the Gulf of Mexico from Stump Pass to Longboat Pass. The Coast Guard has also joined the operation, focusing on areas located more than nine miles offshore using a fleet of vessels and aircraft.
