A devastating incident took place in Bishnupur Ahuk village in Sahebpur Kamal police station area of Bihar’s Begusarai district on Saturday evening. A 25-year-old woman named Neelu Kumari, along with her father Umesh Yadav and brother Rajesh Yadav, were shot dead allegedly by her father-in-law. The deceased hailed from the Sreenagar area of Begusarai district.
The shocking incident unfolded when the victims visited Neelu Kumari’s in-laws’ house. According to eyewitnesses, a heated argument ensued, leading to a scuffle between the family members. In a sudden fit of rage, Neelu Kumari’s father-in-law pulled out a gun and fired at them at point-blank range, resulting in their tragic demise on the spot.
The Alleged Motive Behind the Heinous Crime
Subodh Kumar Yadav, the village mukhiya, shed light on the possible motive behind the gruesome act. He revealed that the incident was linked to a ‘pakadua shaadi’ (forced marriage) case, where individuals are abducted and forced into marriages against their will. Neelu Kumari’s in-laws had allegedly refused to take her back to their home even two years after her marriage, indicating underlying tensions within the family.

Following the incident, the accused father-in-law managed to flee the scene, prompting a rigorous manhunt by the authorities to bring him to justice.
