Details of the First Incident

The Hebron Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call about a dwelling fire at 26357 Quantico Creek Road early in the morning. Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a woman trapped inside the burning home. Despite their efforts, the victim, identified as 58-year-old Amy Appleby-Harris, succumbed to her injuries later in the day.

Cause of the Fire

Deputy State Fire Marshals determined that the fire originated in the second-floor master bedroom due to smoking. While the house had functional smoke detectors, the occupants’ medical conditions hindered their ability to escape swiftly.
