Paramus Man Arrested for Murder of 61-Year-Old

A man from Paramus, New Jersey, has been taken into custody for the murder of a 61-year-old man whose body was discovered in a house in the quiet suburban town, the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed.

The incident unfolded on Friday evening when the Paramus Police Department received a distressing call regarding a potential homicide at 693 Bruce Drive. Responding promptly, officers made a chilling discovery in the basement of the residence – the lifeless body of 61-year-old Manuel Thomas, bearing multiple stab wounds. Despite efforts to revive him, Thomas was pronounced dead at the scene.

Suspect Apprehended Shortly After

Melvin Thomas, aged 32, was swiftly taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder, second-degree desecration of human remains, second-degree hindering, and two possession of a weapon charges, according to prosecutors.
