Suspect Arrested After Body Found in Myrtle Beach

The body discovered Wednesday morning in Myrtle Beach has been identified as 43-year-old Robert Khattar, according to the Horry County Coroner’s Office. Khattar, originally from Michigan but residing in Myrtle Beach, was found near a Sherwin-Williams store along Plaza Place, having suffered “multiple blunt force and chopping injuries to his face” just after 10 p.m. Tuesday. Medlin of Westminster, who was found dead in the vehicle alongside her pet dog. The car, located approximately 75 yards from the shore, showed no signs of damage, suggesting it drove down a pathway to the lake between 9 p.m. and 10 p.m. the previous night.

While the cause of death is undetermined, authorities speculate that a medical condition may have contributed, given the victim’s medical history. The results of the autopsy that was performed on Friday have not yet been released.
