These measures can indirectly reduce mental-health burden by lowering perceived unpredictability and preventing fraudulent losses that precipitate acute stress reactions.

A risk-management approach parallels clinical risk stratification. First, assess individual vulnerability: history of anxiety/depression, prior compulsive behaviors, and baseline stress load. Second, assess exposure level: frequency of monitoring, leverage use, concentration in volatile assets, and inability to meet basic financial obligations. Third, implement harm-reduction strategies: establish a budget, avoid borrowing for speculative positions, diversify, and use predefined risk limits. For mental health, encourage behavioral activation and sleep protection, and—when symptoms are present—consider evidence-based interventions such as CBT for anxiety, mindfulness-based stress reduction, or treatment of comorbid disorders.

When symptoms reach a threshold (persistent anxiety interfering with work or relationships, panic episodes, severe insomnia, or inability to stop checking), referral to mental health services is warranted. Clinicians can evaluate whether the behavior reflects an anxiety disorder, a depressive syndrome, or a compulsive/behavioral addiction pattern. Treatment targets both cognitive distortions and the reinforcement loops that maintain the maladaptive behavior.

Overall, tokenization and RWA adoption may increase participation in novel markets, which can elevate stress and vulnerability to anxiety or compulsive monitoring in certain individuals.
