A 17-year-old student aspiring to crack the prestigious IIT-Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) tragically ended his life in Kota, Rajasthan. The young boy, who hailed from Bihar, was found hanging from the ceiling fan in his paying guest (PG) accommodation. Police Investigation and Previous Attempts
The Mahaveer Nagar station house officer, Mahendra Maroo, revealed that the boy’s friends raised the alarm after receiving no response from him. The police were promptly informed, leading to the discovery of the student’s lifeless body inside his room. This unfortunate event marks the eleventh suicide case in Kota’s coaching hub this year, underscoring the immense pressure faced by students preparing for competitive exams.
Maroo disclosed that the deceased had previously attempted suicide earlier in the year, hinting at underlying mental health struggles. The police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident, including the absence of a suicide note. The boy’s parents have been notified, and his body has been sent for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.
