Tragic Shooting at Jackson Club Under Investigation by TBI
In a devastating turn of events, a fatal officer-involved shooting occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning in Jackson, Tennessee. The incident, which is currently under investigation by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), took place at a club near Heritage Square. District Attorney General Jody Pickens has requested a thorough examination of the circumstances surrounding the incident.
According to preliminary information, at approximately 3 a.m. on February 11, officers from the Jackson police Department responded to reports of shots fired at the club. As they approached the entrance, they were met with the sound of additional gunshots and witnessed numerous individuals fleeing the scene.
Upon arrival, the officers encountered a man, later identified as Erick Raudales Aguilera, who was armed and being pursued by a security guard. In the midst of the chaos, one of the officers fired at Aguilera, tragically ending his life. Thankfully, no officers were injured during the incident. Additionally, four other individuals inside the club were found to have sustained gunshot wounds and were either transported to a local hospital for treatment or received immediate care on site.
The investigation into this harrowing incident is ongoing, with TBI agents diligently working to piece together the series of events leading up to the shooting.
