Born in Brooklyn, New York, Carl was the son of the late Harold and Margaret Swinamer. He grew up in a close-knit family and had a strong bond with his siblings, Mary and John. Carl attended St. Francis Preparatory School, where he excelled academically and was known for his quick wit and sense of humor.
After high school, Carl attended New York University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration. He went on to have a successful career in finance, working for several prominent firms in the city. Carl was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his clients.
In 1980, Carl married the love of his life, Elizabeth. Together, they raised three children, Sarah, Michael, and Emily. Carl was a devoted husband and father, always putting his family first. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, who brought him immense joy and laughter.
In his free time, Carl enjoyed playing golf, reading mystery novels, and gardening. He was a talented cook and loved hosting family gatherings and dinner parties. Carl was also a passionate sports fan, cheering on the New York Yankees and the New York Giants.
