Arrest of Three Suspects for Theft at Southern California Target Stores
Three individuals, identified as Miya Angel Grant, 19, Dion Damani Ford, 20, and Nanyaba Wilson-Tyehhimba, 27, all residents of Los Angeles, were apprehended for allegedly stealing thousands of dollars worth of merchandise from Target stores in Southern California.
Incident at Target Store in Thousand Oaks
On May 22, Ventura County deputies responded to a report of a “theft in progress” at a Target store located in the 2700 block of Teller Road in Thousand Oaks. Security personnel at the store informed authorities that the suspects had placed multiple large items into a large shopping tote before fleeing the premises. It was also reported that the suspects had committed a similar theft at another Target location just moments before.
Following the theft, investigators were able to identify the suspects and spotted them driving on the 101 Freeway shortly after the incident in Thousand Oaks. The suspects were subsequently pulled over and arrested at the scene.
Discovery of Stolen Items
During the arrest, law enforcement officers discovered a significant quantity of stolen goods in the possession of the suspects. The stolen items included alcohol, cosmetics, over-the-counter medication, and personal hygiene products.
Charges and Bail
Target employees estimated that the trio had managed to steal approximately $3,500 worth of merchandise from both Target stores. All three suspects were booked on charges of organized retail theft and were later released after posting bail. An arraignment hearing for the case has been scheduled at the Ventura County Superior Court on June 6.
