Tragic Death of Auburn Teenager
(Auburn, IN) (5-23-24) – The quiet neighborhood of Auburn, Indiana was rocked by tragedy today as detectives with the Indiana State Police Fort Wayne Post began investigating the death of a seventeen-year-old teenager.
Discovery of the Victim
It was a normal afternoon when the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Department received a frantic 911 call reporting a possible stabbing incident in the 1100 block of Irene Street. The police officers rushed to the scene and found the young male victim lying unresponsive in the yard of 1108 Irene Street. He appeared to have sustained a severe stab wound that tragically proved fatal.
Efforts to Save the Teenager
Despite the valiant efforts of the Auburn police officers, along with the prompt arrival of Auburn Fire Department and EMS personnel, the teenager could not be revived. The DeKalb County Coroner’s Office sadly pronounced him dead at the scene.
