According to Toronto police, officers responded to the shooting call and found two victims, a man and a woman. Homicide Det. Jason Davis stated that both victims were taken to the hospital, where the woman received treatment for her injuries. Unfortunately, Trevor John, a resident of Toronto, succumbed to his injuries.

Residents of the building where the shooting took place revealed that the murdered man lived in the lowrise. Davis mentioned that multiple shots were fired during the incident, but the motive behind the shooting remains unknown.
