The Metro Nashville police Department has released its latest list of “Most Wanted” fugitives, with a woman accused of helping to cover up two murders among the top suspects. The list, updated weekly on the Criminal Warrants Division’s Facebook page, features individuals considered to be some of the most violent offenders in the city.
Of the suspects on this week’s list, more than half are wanted for homicide or charges related to alleged sex crimes. The rest are accused of crimes such as aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, and criminal impersonation. The newest addition to the list is a woman indicted by a grand jury on two counts of failure to report a dead body and two counts of accessory after the fact. She is believed to have knowledge of two murders that occurred in September and October 2023 and allegedly assisted the killer in evading capture.
Since its launch in October 2022, the “Most Wanted” list has helped police make over 100 arrests, boasting an impressive 78% arrest rate. One recent arrest includes 18-year-old Mateus Alves, accused of raping a teenage girl at a New Year’s Eve party in Nashville. Among the suspects on this week’s list is Lagarrion L. Blacksmith, 35, who is wanted for a deadly shooting outside a Dickerson Pike bar last year. Other notable fugitives on the list include Jaylen Bender, Raceme Crutcher, Michael A. Yarlett, Ladonte J. Groves, Adrian Abernathy, Anthony O. Etuk, and Renee L. Mason. These individuals are wanted for various crimes ranging from aggravated assault to solicitation of a minor. Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating these fugitives to ensure their swift apprehension.
