A quiet morning in Paravur, Kollam turned into a scene of horror as a family tragedy unfolded, leaving two members dead and two critically injured. The perpetrator of this heinous act was identified as Sreeju, a 46-year-old man from Poothakkulam.
Victims of the Tragedy
The victims of this senseless act were Sreeju’s wife, Preetha, aged 39, and their 12-year-old daughter, Sreenanda. Their lifeless bodies were discovered in their residence by shocked residents of the neighbourhood. It was a gruesome sight that left the community in disbelief.

In a fit of rage, Sreeju not only took the lives of his wife and daughter but also attempted to end the life of his elder son, Sreerag, aged 17. Thankfully, Sreerag survived the attack, albeit with critical injuries. Sreeju, in a moment of desperation, tried to take his own life by slitting his wrist.
The Aftermath
Once the news of the tragedy spread, the police were immediately informed and arrived at the scene. With the help of local residents, all family members were swiftly taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. Tragically, Preetha and Sreenanda were pronounced dead upon arrival at Government Medical College in Parippally.
Sreeju was transferred to Government Medical College in Thiruvananthapuram, while his son Sreerag was taken to Holy Cross Hospital in Kottiyam. Both are currently fighting for their lives in the ICU, as the community grapples with the shock of the incident.
