Illinois State police Trooper Injured in Crash on Interstate 57

An Illinois State Police trooper was injured in a crash on Interstate 57 east of Anna, Illinois. The incident occurred around 9:06 p.m. on April 23 when a driver struck the trooper’s squad car.

Details of the Crash

The trooper’s squad car was parked on the inside shoulder of I-57 northbound near milepost 37.5, just north of Lick Creek Road, with its emergency lights activated. The trooper was inside the squad car, handling a motorist assist, when it was hit by a white Infiniti driven by 59-year-old Kimberly Keser of Creal Springs, Illinois.

Driver’s Citations

Kimberly Keser was cited for the Move Over Law – Failure to yield to a stationary emergency vehicle and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Despite the crash, Keser reported no injuries at the scene.

Trooper’s Injuries
