“Dayton Double Murder Suspect, 14-Year-Old Boy, Arrested in Illinois”

In a tragic incident that shook the community, a 14-year-old boy has been charged in a Dayton shooting that resulted in the deaths of two teens. The Montgomery County Prosecutor’s Office has stated that it is too early to determine whether they will motion to move the case to adult court.

### Arrest and Extradition
The teen was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals’ Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team with assistance from the Great Lakes Regional Task Force, Peoria police Department, and Dayton Police Department Homicide Unit. Currently, he is being held in a Peoria County juvenile facility awaiting extradition back to Ohio.

U.S. Marshal Michael D. Black commended the collaborative efforts of law enforcement agencies, stating, “The safe capture of this fugitive is the result of the hard work done by the Dayton PD investigators and our nationwide network of fugitive task forces. We will continue to work with and support our partners to locate violent suspects who attempt to evade arrest.”

### Tragic Shooting Incident
On March 14, around 7:20 p.m., Dayton police responded to a shooting in the 1600 block of Miami Chapel Road near Louise Troy Elementary School. Upon arrival, officers found a male performing CPR on one of the victims, later identified as Prater. Despite efforts to save him, he was pronounced dead at Dayton Children’s Hospital.

Another victim, identified as Morgan, a 17-year-old male, was also transported to a hospital but tragically succumbed to his injuries. The incident left the community in shock and prompted multiple 911 calls reporting the shooting.

### Eyewitness Accounts
Eyewitnesses described a harrowing scene, with one caller recounting, “There was a group of kids out here playing and some little boy just got shot. I didn’t really see what happened. I heard the gunshots and now a little boy is laying right here in the field and everybody just scattered.”

Another caller reported that a group of boys were outside fighting, shedding light on the events leading up to the tragic shooting.

### Additional Arrest
In a separate development, U.S. Marshals also arrested 29-year-old Davion Clark in Illinois. Clark was wanted on a federal supervised release violation and is currently being held in the Peoria County Jail pending extradition to Ohio. The authorities are working diligently to ensure that justice is served in both cases.

The loss of young lives in such a senseless act of violence has left the community reeling, with friends and family mourning the untimely deaths of Prater and Morgan.
