Bob was born on June 12, 1946, in a small town in Iowa where he spent his entire life, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness.

Bob was a dedicated family man who adored his wife of 55 years, Susan, and their three children, Sarah, Michael, and Emily. He was a pillar of strength and support for his family, always putting their needs above his own. Bob was known for his quick wit, infectious smile, and unwavering love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In addition to being a loving husband and father, Bob was also a proud veteran who served his country with honor and distinction. He enlisted in the United States Army at the age of 18 and served multiple tours overseas, bravely defending the freedoms that we hold dear. Bob’s commitment to his country was unwavering, and his sacrifice will never be forgotten.

After retiring from the military, Bob dedicated himself to serving his community as a volunteer firefighter for over 20 years. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at Barr Memorial Chapel on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Veterans Assistance Fund in Bob’s honor. Thank you, Bob, for your service, your sacrifice, and your love. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Rest in peace, dear friend.
