A suspect has been apprehended following the tragic death of a woman in South Los Angeles. The Los Angeles police Department has identified the suspect as Bryan Blackmon, a 29-year-old resident of Hawthorne.

On the evening of March 19, authorities received reports of a victim down in the 5800 block of South Hoover Street in the Vermont-Slauson neighbourhood. Responding officers discovered Gerardo Medina-Garcia, 24, also known as Meraxes, lying on the road with a gunshot wound. Tragically, the young woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Additionally, evidence suggested that she had been struck by a vehicle.
Suspect Identification and Arrest
Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene before law enforcement could arrive. However, through diligent investigation, Bryan Blackmon was identified as the prime suspect. He was taken into custody in Hawthorne on March 29. Subsequently, on April 2, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office filed murder charges against Blackmon.
