Renowned actor Kamal Haasan has expressed his heartfelt condolences over the untimely demise of director Vetri Duraisamy, who tragically lost his life in a devastating accident. Vetri, the son of former Chennai Mayor Saithai Duraisamy, was known for his dedication and commitment to his craft from a young age.
In a heartfelt note, Kamal Haasan conveyed his deepest sympathies to Vetri’s grieving family, particularly empathizing with the immense loss felt by his father. The news of Vetri’s passing has left many in disbelief, as he was a promising talent in the film industry.
The tragic incident occurred when Vetri’s lifeless body was discovered near the banks of the Sutlej River on February 12th. The driver of the vehicle, Tenzin, was also found deceased at the scene. Reports suggest that Tenzin may have suffered a fatal heart attack while driving, leading to the loss of control over the car and the subsequent overturning.
Vetri was in Shimla on a location scouting trip for his upcoming film, accompanied by Gopinath, when the accident took place. A large-scale search operation, involving state officials and the use of drones, was launched to locate Vetri’s body. After nine days of intensive efforts, his remains were finally found several kilometers away from the accident site.
Following the recovery, Vetri Duraisamy’s body was taken to the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital in Shimla for a postmortem examination before being handed over to his grieving family for the final rites.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin also extended his heartfelt condolences to Saithai Duraisamy, acknowledging the profound tragedy that no parent should ever have to endure.
Vetri Duraisamy had gained recognition for his directorial work in the acclaimed film “Endravaathu Oru Naal,” starring actors Vidharth and Ramya Nambeeshan. The movie received accolades at various international film festivals, showcasing Vetri’s talent and passion for storytelling. Moreover, Vetri shared a close bond with renowned actor Thala Ajith Kumar, highlighting his impact and relationships within the film industry.
