Laurens police Department Arrests Six Individuals in Connection with Car Break-Ins

The Laurens Police Department has successfully concluded a three-month-long investigation into a series of car break-ins, resulting in the arrest of six individuals. This operation, which involved meticulous detective work and collaboration, has brought relief to the local community that has been plagued by these crimes.

Following the thorough investigation, law enforcement officials executed a total of 107 arrest warrants. Among those taken into custody were two adults and four teenagers. Both adults, Tarajia Williams, aged 20, and Joseph Harris, aged 38, are now facing multiple charges.

Williams, charged with assault and battery in the third degree, along with an astonishing 20 counts of breaking into a motor vehicle, has become the prime suspect in this case. On the other hand, Harris faces charges of trafficking methamphetamines, breaking into a motor vehicle, and three counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. These charges paint a disturbing picture of their alleged involvement in criminal activities.

The four teenagers, aged 17, 16, 16, and 14, have each been charged with 20 counts of breaking into a motor vehicle. It is disheartening to learn that individuals at such young ages have allegedly engaged in such criminal behavior.

During the course of apprehending the suspects, law enforcement officers also arrested two other individuals on unrelated charges. Ashley Near, a 34-year-old, was charged with breach of trust, while Krishyea Byrd, aged 25, faced charges of interfering with an officer during the execution of a warrant. These additional arrests further underscore the commitment of the Laurens Police Department to maintaining law and order within the community.

Despite the significant progress made in this case, the investigation is still ongoing. Authorities have not ruled out the possibility of additional charges being brought against the individuals involved. The Laurens Police Department remains dedicated to ensuring that justice is served and will continue to pursue all leads until every aspect of this case is thoroughly examined.

As the investigation progresses, we will provide you with the latest updates. Stay tuned for more information on this significant development.
