Born on September 28, 1945, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Scoop showed great academic promise from a young age. He attended Yale University, where he excelled, before pursuing a legal education at the University of Virginia. In April 2012, Scoop reached a plea deal, admitting to felony theft charges. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison and served his time at a Colorado State Prison. At present, Scoop, now 78 years old, is on parole.
